We are always on the lookout for luxe basics for babies. TANE organics is the perfect answer to the modern layette. Pure. Simple. Organic. Luxe. Sophisticated. What more could a mommy ask for?
Meet Sheree Lee, designer and founder, and see why she is so passionate about this beautiful collection of luxe basics.
WHAT INSPIRED YOU TO CREATE TANE ORGANICS?
My inspiration stemmed from the pureness and softness of organic cotton coupled with the health benefits of using non-toxic materials for newborns and toddlers.
It is also from recognizing the need for great design in children's clothing. Simple, easy shapes with thoughtful construction and details, while always focusing on comfort and durability.
The opportunity to connect with artisans receiving fair trade wages, supporting a community with sustainable work, being able to quietly change the infrastructure and contributing to a better future was also of importance to me.
WHAT IS THE STORY BEHIND THE NAME?
TANE, which means seed in Japanese, takes inspiration from the iconic kimono shape. A shape that is super easy to dress your newborn, and a shape reflective of great timeless design.
WHAT SHOULD OUR READERS/CLIENTS KNOW ABOUT TANE ORGANICS THAT MAKES IT SPECIAL?
TANE's interchangeable colors, shapes, and textures create a sophisticated and simple system of dressing that is playful and effortless. Mom chooses product from multiple seasons, creating their own unique color palette and system of dressing for their babies.
WE LOVE YOUR YUMMY BASICS. THE KIMONO ONSIE WITH LEGGINGS IS ONE OF OUR FAVORITES. WHAT IS YOUR FAVORITE PIECE FROM THE COLLECTION?
You've selected my favorite piece as well! The rounded shape of the Kimono Onesie with Leggings allows freedom and ease of movement. TANE's signature pointelle fabric is so incredibly durable and adorable. This key piece has become TANE's Signature silhouette.
WHERE IS THE BRAND BASED?
The Flatiron District in NYC.
IF WE WERE VISITING YOUR NEIGHBORHOOD, WHAT WOULD BE ON YOUR LIST FOR US TO SEE/DO/EAT/SHOP?
