This collection makes us want to get pregnant all over again (well almost). Chic, stylish and so comfortable, HATCH Collection is the "it" label in every chic expectant mom's wardrobe.
Meet the founder and designer of the collection, Ariane Goldman, and take a peak into her Hamptons Home in the newest issue of LONNY magazine.
WHAT INSPIRED YOU TO CREATE HATCH?
When I was pregnant with my daughter Charlie, my body was changing and I was desperately looking for pieces I could invest in that would enable me to feel comfortable and look beautiful. To my surprise, there were few options speaking to me other than disposable, matronly garments I'd never purchase.
WHAT DID YOU DO BEFORE YOU STARTED HATCH?
Straight out of college I worked at American Express for 8 years before my wedding when I realized there was another void in the market, bridesmaid dresses! I made the dresses for my wedding, one dress that could be wrapped over 15 ways to flatter my friend's different body types, and my first business was born. I began twobirds Bridesmaid 5 years ago as I felt there was nothing speaking to women wanting to invest in something they look amazing in and can wear again, thus killing 'two birds' with one dress.
WHAT IS THE BEST BUSINESS ADVICE YOU HAVE RECEIVED?
Be patient and keep it LOCAL!
WHAT'S NEXT FOR HATCH?
Oh I'm so excited with what's to come. We are coming out with a new line in the spring and I have some super exciting collaborations coming up with amazing brands I've admired for years. It's just the beginning!
WE HAVE SO MANY FAVORITES, BUT WE'RE CURRENTLY OBSESSED WITH THE NIGHT OUT LEGGINGS AND THE CAPE. WHAT ARE YOUR FAVORITE PIECES FROM THE COLLECTION RIGHT NOW?
AH, the night out leggings are the top sellers! I'm obsessed with the sweatshirt dress and the cashmere feels AMAZING. I am going to live in each and every piece as it gets cold.
WHAT SHOULD OUR READERS/CLIENTS KNOW ABOUT HATCH THAT MAKES IT SPECIAL?
I try to ensure each piece is an investment piece and can absolutely be worn for years to come. I'm trying to marry comfort with style, and celebrate women as they grow and then get back to themselves.
WHERE DO YOU LIVE?
I live in Soho in NYC with my husband and daughter.
IF WE WERE VISITING YOUR NEIGHBORHOOD, WHAT WOULD BE ON YOUR LIST FOR US TO SEE/DO/EAT/SHOP?
Well, I'd definitely head to Balthazar for a donut and then hit the streets for some inspiration. I love a stop at Ochre for some interior therapy and then maybe a stop at TopShop and Acne for retail therapy.
WHAT/WHO IS YOUR BIGGEST SOURCE OF INSPIRATION?
I love visuals so I'm finding A LOT of inspiration these days on Pinterest. Travel always inspires me as women in different cultures express themselves so differently and it's just amazing. We recently returned from India and I'm still dreaming of the colors.
FIVE THINGS YOU EACH CAN'T LIVE WITHOUT
My daughter Charlie's smile, my husband's scruff, Rodin lip balm, Vaseline, and my Hermes agenda.
